What Is Energy-Based Psychotherapy?
Energy-Based Psychotherapy is a way of working with the human psyche (mind and emotions) and the human energy body (bio-electrical physiology, biofields, biophotons, meridians and chakras) simultaneously. The process involves an advanced form of psychotherapy to access the root cause of emotional and psychological problems from the subconscious mind, deep emotional release work and the ability to track discordant energies in the subtle body and clear / neutralize them; to create significant shifts in thoughts, feelings and perceptions.
What Does A Session Look Like?
Each session in Energy-Based Psychotherapy is an adventurous journey into the subconscious mind to access blocks, negative core beliefs, areas of resistance and denial or suppression in the form of metaphors. A systematized process using cognitive interventions allows the practitioner to guide a client safely into their subconscious mind as well as navigate around the subconscious mind, bringing into conscious awareness things that were previously hidden. The goal in every session is to go beyond the surface stuff to access a core wound of the soul and transform it completely.
The process often involves a deep emotional release and subtle energy work to create shifts in thoughts, feelings and perceptions. As human beings, we are multidimensional beings – we have a physical body, emotional body, mental body and a spirit body and therefore when we experience something negative, it affects all of these bodies and therefore to experience complete healing, wounds must be tended to on all levels of the Mind-Body Matrix.
For example, if you were bullied at the age of 7, the experience wounded you on many different levels. On an emotional level, you may have anger, sadness and guilt. On a mental level, the experience may have created certain programs such as ‘there is something wrong with me’, ‘children cannot be trusted’, ‘the world is not a safe place’, ‘human beings are mean and nasty’, and so on. On a physical level, you may still carry the imprint of the moment of being bullied as cellular memory. And finally, on the spirit level, there may be associated discordant energies such as imprints, energetic cords, entities and so on.
This experience prevents you from living life fully and authentically in the here and now and keeps you in a reactive state, where your interactions and connection with others may be limited through your past experience. The experience may also affect how you feel about yourself and how you perceive life.
Energy-Based Psychotherapy works at every level of the Mind-Body Matrix to access the root cause of anxieties, issues and struggles and heal them quickly. We find that 1-3 sessions are often enough to create a positive shift for most emotional and psychological struggles and anxieties. In addition, conditions such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Suicide Prevention and Dissociation Disorders can sometimes be resolved in as few as three sessions.
During a one-on-one session, our goal is to uncover all the core beliefs around a theme / soul wound and clean them out quickly, so the theme shifts completely. A popular small theme that shows up in many people is ‘Distrust Towards Life’. In this theme, some of the core beliefs may be life is a struggle, you must work hard to accomplish anything in life, unexpected things can happen at anytime, we must be extremely cautious in all aspects of life, life is hard, life feels like an everyday grind and so on. We find that such small themes can often be cleared in a single session. Many bigger themes such as ‘Not Feeling Safe’ which can lead to suicidal tendencies often require several sessions and intensives to shift completely.
Our goal for one-on-one sessions is to prepare clients to do the much deeper and more intense work that happens in weekend intensives such as the Inner Child Healing Intensive. This is where a whole area of the psyche receives healing, creating significant shifts. It usually only takes the average person 3-4 one-on-one sessions to become ready to undertake the deep work that happens in a weekend intensive. Almost every client I work with has a “Wounded Inner Child” – a big part of our psyche that is running many big themes, that show up as blocks and dysfunctions in our life. Some of these themes may be rejection, abandonment, betrayal, anger, shame, fear and more. Each of these themes would have many core beliefs, negative patterns and toxic emotions associated with the Inner Child. Our Inner Child Healing Intensive has the ability to guide clients so deep as to uncover most of these themes and clear them out, creating huge dramatic shifts in thoughts, feelings and perceptions in the here and now.
